In addition to its bustling market,\nWaterlooville boasts a wealth of great local amenities, an impressive selection\nof primary and secondary schools and plenty of luscious green landscape and\nscenic coastline on the doorstep in the shape of the South Downs National Park and\nChichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you know? <\/strong>Waterlooville gets its name from a pub called \u2018The Heroes of Waterloo\u2019 that once stood in the heart of the town. <\/em>The pub served as a rest stop for the soldiers that fought in The Battle of Waterloo.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This inviting market town\nis also popular among commuters to both Portsmouth and London, young couples,\ngrowing families, and retirees alike thanks to its competitive house\nprices.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The average property price in the city over\nthe last 12 months was \u00a3341,459, making it more affordable than both Hampshire\n(\u00a3386,147) and the South East region (\u00a3459,794) overall, particularly pricey\nlocal hotspots Soberton (\u00a31,022,692), Droxford (\u00a3980,650) and nearby Hambledon (\u00a3731,667)\nonly 15 minutes away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waterlooville is a well-connected town\nwith a choice of solid transport connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst the town does not have its own\nrailway station, Bedhampton<\/a>, Havant<\/a> and Cosham<\/a> train stations are all minutes away, offering regular connections to destinations\nsuch as Portsmouth and Southsea, Southampton, Littlehampton, Brighton,\nGuildford, and London Waterloo, which can be reached in around an hour and a\nhalf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area is also served by an extensive\nbus network<\/a> that serves the entire region\nwhile providing routes to nearby locations including Portsmouth, Gosport,\nFareham, and Petersfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re travelling by motor vehicle\nyou\u2019re also in luck because Waterlooville is served by the M27 between Cadnam\nand Portsmouth and the A3 which links the town to the M3 running from Surrey to\nnearby Eastleigh. There is a great selection of primary\nand secondary schools in the Waterlooville catchment area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The town is home to 10 primary schools and\nthe majority of which sport a \u2018Good\u2019 Ofsted rating. Horndean Infant School, Riverside\nCommunity Special School and nearby Hambledon Primary and Warren Park Primary\nSchools have all received an \u2018Outstanding\u2019 Ofsted rating. Other popular options\nlocally include St Peter\u2019s Catholic Primary School and Purbrook Infant and\nJunior Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For bigger kids taking that next step\nup, Waterlooville has five secondary school options: the highly rated Oaklands\nCatholic School (with sixth form), The Cowplain School (known for its excellent\nSEND support), Horndean Technology College, Crookhorn College and Purbrook Park\nSchool. All of these institutions have a Good Ofsted rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For further and higher education\nopportunities, the local Havant and South Downs\nCollege<\/a>\nis a vibrant campus that offers a mix of academic qualifications, vocational\ncourses, and contemporary apprenticeships and the <\/a>University of Portsmouth<\/a> is\nalso on the doorstep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you like window shopping,\nyou\u2019re looking for everyday essentials or you enjoy a spot of retail therapy\nnow and then, Waterlooville has something to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The town\u2019s Wellington Way Shopping Centre<\/a> is a bustling retail hub with\na great choice of local independents, high street favourites and inviting\ncoffee shops and the Wellington Retail Park offers all of the larger, out of\ntown favourites you would expect like TK MAXX, Argos, Halfords and Home\nBargains. For that bigger, bolder fashion fix, Portsmouth\u2019s\nfamous <\/a>Gunwharf Quays<\/a> is only a short drive or train ride away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waterlooville\u2019s friendly\nmarket<\/a>\nis also open several days a week and is home to all kinds of vendors selling\neverything from useful knickknacks to flowers, fresh local produce, framed\nprints, records, and rare trinkets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to eating\nand drinking, Waterlooville also delivers. There is good selection of pubs in\nthe area (we recommend The Bird in Hand, The Ship and Bell and The Bat and Ball)\nand the likes of Koop+Kraft, Georgio\u2019s Pizza and Number 73 will have you spoilt\nfor choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
