The town of\nTottenham is located in the North London borough of Haringey around 6 miles\nnorth of central London and is perhaps best known for its local Premier League\nfootball team Tottenham Hotspur F.C<\/a> (aka \u2018Spurs\u2019) which dates back to 1882,\nnotable locals Adele and Lamar (last names not needed!) and a rich and, at\ntimes, turbulent history.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tottenham was\nalready home to a small farming community by the time of its entry in the 11th<\/sup>\ncentury Doomsday Book and later became a favoured hunting spot of Henry VIII and\nother well-heeled Londoners in the Tudor era. The 16th<\/sup> century Bruce\nCastle remains an impressive example of Tottenham\u2019s long heritage. The arrival\nof the railways in the area in the 19th century and specifically the workman\u2019s\ntrains and reduced fares saw the arrival of more affordable housing as the area\nbecame largely middle and working class. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A post-war\nslump contributed to socio-economic issues such as poor housing, high\nunemployment, increased crime and limited amenities, particularly for the\nAfrican-Caribbean community. However, Tottenham has seen a concerted focus on\ncrime reduction and prevention in recent years and much regeneration when it\ncomes to housing, local amenities, leisure and the transport infrastructure,\nincluding an impressive new Spurs stadium, with more to follow.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today,\nhomebuyers are attracted to Tottenham\u2019s diverse, vibrant community, exciting\nbars and eateries, excellent transport links and surprising amount of green,\noutdoor space. With some seriously good value property options to throw into\nthe mix, Tottenham is ideal for those priced out of more affluent neighbours\nlike Walthamstow, Stamford Hill and Stoke Newington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, properties\nin Tottenham had an average price of \u00a3479,295 over the last 12 months. Still\nrelatively low considering how\nwell-connected this northern suburb is and significantly more affordable than\nboth North London (\u00a3811,828) and Haringey (\u00a3729,019) overall, and particularly\npricey Haringey hotspots Holly Village (\u00a31,452,801) and Muswell Hill (\u00a31,009,714).\nHowever, prices are steadily on the rise, up 9% between 2019 and 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transport<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Located in\nLondon\u2019s Zone 3, Tottenham offers excellent transport links into the heart of\nthe capital and is one of North London\u2019s most well-connected areas via rail,\nroad, London overground and underground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are underground services on the Victoria Line\nat Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale and overground services at Seven Sisters, Bruce\nGrove, White Hart Lane and nearby South Tottenham. When it comes to national\nrail services, Greater Anglia trains run from Tottenham Hale, Northumberland\nPark and Seven Sisters into central London and out to Hertfordshire and\nCambridgeshire. The West Anglia Main Line provides services to Liverpool Street\nand Stratford from Tottenham Hale. There is also a Stansted Express service\nfrom Tottenham Hale to London Stansted Airport. As such, you can get to Stratford\nin 11 minutes, Kings Cross in 12 minutes, Liverpool Street in 20 minutes or\nStansted Airport in an impressive 35 minutes. There are also significant\nupgrades to the transport network in the pipeline, in the Tottenham Hale<\/a>, Bruce Grove<\/a>, High Road West<\/a> and Northumberland Park<\/a> areas amongst others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tottenham is\nalso served by a large number of bus<\/a> and cycle<\/a> routes. This includes popular bus services such as the 41\nbetween Archway and Tottenham Hale, the 149 between Edmonton Green and London\nBridge and the 76 between Waterloo and Tottenham Hale. For cyclists, the National\nCycle Route 1 (NCR 1), Cycle Superhighway 1 (CS1), Quietway 2 (Q2) and the\ninternational EuroVelo 2 all run through Tottenham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Road wise, the\nA10 links Tottenham to the nearby M25 and there are easy local connections to\nthe A406 North Circular road too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
