By 1525, Reading was the 10<sup>th<\/sup> largest town in England in terms of taxable wealth which was earned predominantly in the cloth trade. The Industrial Revolution saw further prosperity and by the 18<sup>th<\/sup> century the town had established itself as a major iron works manufacturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nowadays, Reading is perhaps best known for its eponymous festival, famous names (from Paddington Bear creator Michael Bond to Ricky Gervais and many more in-between!) and as a prime spot for commuters moving out of the capital in search of more space for their money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a population of over 230,000, and a recent billion-pound<a href=\"https:\/\/www.homesandproperty.co.uk\/property-news\/living-in-reading-crossrail-commuter-town-regeneration-a134026.html\"> refurbishment project<\/a>, savvy buyers are looking past the post war exterior and embracing suburban Berkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Want to know whether a move to Reading makes sense for you? The station has many direct routes including the popular Reading to London Paddington route, with around 140 trains daily.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.gov.uk\/buses\">Reading&#8217;s local bus services<\/a> can take you nearly anywhere within the town.
